First Session Thoughts

Real-time attendance just got slicker!

Attendees at the free training session on October 16, learned how to set "Absence Thresholds" in the web-based teacher module. Thresholds visually alert the teacher that attendance or tardies need attention, by color-flagging absences and tardies that meet or exceed certain limits. Here's an example of how this feature can work for you...

School XYZ has a policy that when a student misses 3 periods of a class within a single grade period, a parent conference is required. To easily make teachers aware, in a timely manner, the attendance officer at School XYZ sets a threshold of 3 absences, using the web teacher module's administration functions. Now, when the teacher views attendance in "Summary," and selects Grade Period view, she can tell at a glance who to schedule for conferences. The number of absences will appear for each grade period, and when a threshold is met or exceeded, the box will be color-coded red (or your favorite alert color).

Teachers will love it. Students, well...not so much.

Our first Free Training session

Our first free training session was held on Thursday, October 16, 2008. Topics included Extra-Curricular Accounting, Absence Thresholds in the Teacher Module, New Features of the Teacher Module and Gradebook, Grade Submission, Reporting and Spreadsheet Generation of Financial and Payroll Data, and a discussion of online payroll information for employees. We had a lot of great questions and comments. Free lunch was also provided. Thanks to everyone who attended! Our next Free Training session will be announced soon.
